As you might expect, the additional cost reflects much more than just the addition of a supercharger. Numerous components have been upgraded to ensure that the car remains enjoyable and rewarding to drive despite its substantial increase in power.
The Ultimate Street Mustang
The Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC is powered by a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine producing an impressive 795 horsepower. Power is sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which is another key difference compared to the standard Mustang Dark Horse.
Expensive Options
Starting at $144,810, it is clear that the Mustang Dark Horse SC is not intended for everyone. In fact, it is highly likely that most buyers will not settle for the entry-level configuration, as the model offers a wide range of options.
Unsurprisingly, some options remain relatively affordable, but the bill can rise quickly with the addition of several costly packages. For example, the carbon-fibre appearance package is priced at $13,750. However, the High Package remains the most expensive option at $50,230, which is more than the cost of an entry-level Mustang.
